Hi everybody, I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with any VR stuff... Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I would like to find out the best unit for seeing things around the world, these tours or just to be able to look up my old house, what a great idea! I also really liked the idea of what I was seeing for the yoga portion of this video, the underwater scenes etc. That would be amazing! I'm assuming these are all apps? Available for purchase? Does anything come with the VR headset? Are there any websites that can actually show you what you'll be seeing? I have no idea what to even expect, but it sure sounds interesting! I am looking at the meta quest 2, but now I understand there's a 3? Looking forward to any information that will help me understand what this is all about. Thank you!

When you guys do ‘Rec Room’, I noticed there are older men trying to lure children in. Make sure you tell your kids not to give out any information like real name or location/state when they talk to people because the will “talk you out” for that info. The even try to lie just to see where YOU are at and it’s scary because it’s a cool/ fun app so they would expect it to be safe.

I thoroughly believe VR will become the most advanced teaching tool on the planet.

You forgot martial art and excersice.. many arnis practitioner use blade and socercer for thier arnis session.

I honestly want a headset that acts like a standalone linux computer and phone replacement in addition to being a cool vr/ar headset. I feel like computers are moving towards integrating into the environment and it would be really nice if that could be more open source.

Education: You could have virtual classrooms. I would love many subjects at advanced high school level or college without going to the campus. Workouts, like walking on a treadmill or cycling through all national parks, or skiing.

I bought mine especially for the experiences. No gaming for me but most info is about gaming so thanks for the info.

#1. Watching live sporting events and concerts from any view in the stadium #2. Which was not mentioned, would be the ability to drive down the street, in Google street view with 360° viewing angles. And fly over cities in Google earth. But those have yet to be fully and properly developed.

I love doing the pov tours but some of them make me dizzy. Train rides are really cool! Never thought of visiting childhood home or neighborhood. Good idea!

So I've been a drummer for around 10 years now and I wouldn't recommend learning on vr. You can play a few songs but if you later buy a real drum set (acoustic or electric) you have to re adapt your playing style for the real world. Its fun, sure, but don't use it as a substitution for real drums, also since a good cheap drumset can cost you a fraction of vr headsets.

after 2 years I can say - no revolution here, still technology is not that great, has flaws (like headset resolution, weight etc). out of 10 mentioned things (and apart from gaming ofc) only watching movies is ok.

I have yet to meet these "cool people" you mentioned. However I have met quite a few people that have some serious mental health issues. SIGH...

meditate with a vr headset, you know the type of meditate that has you closing your eyes, so it makes a whole world of sense to put on a vr headset.

So as for the first part, with movies and shows. You didn't say "porn" which is weird because you can watch porn in vr, as well as read porn comics.

I don't have any passionate interest for myself, but I'm glad to see the potential therapeutic uses for this for those who need it.
